How High the Moon (No listening currently available) This is the free example score from the category “Arrangements for Big Band and vocalist(s)” |
Description: | This arrangement of this classic song, starts off with a slow, conducted intro with lyrics by Daniel Eng, which abruptly breaks into the main tempo with a sax lead-in to the pickup of the main lyrics for the vocalist. The vocalist then sings the full, original, lyrics, and hands over to a short sax chorus which leads over to a tenor sax solo. After the solo comes an ensemble part, ending in a shout that sets off the vocalist for a final take on the lyrics – this time with some alterations in the order of the phrases. The piece ends with the vocalist and some horns in a short, quieting outro where muted trumpets state the ending. Notated key: F |
