Quirky Quantum Quarks |
Description: | A funky piece in “60’s bordering on 70’s” rock style. A short intro launches the main theme and stick twice and after the last round, a pick up lets the first soloist – trumpet 2 in fluegelhorn – loose in a solo chorus. The fluegelhorn solo ends in a sax interlude, which in its turn is followed by a beat passage with the rhythm section and a harmon muted trumpet 4. The rest of the winds subsequently join in – horns muted – and end the passage in a modest shout, to the pick up and an ensuing solo chorus for the sax soloist. An ensemble chorus follows the sax solo, that ends in a shout leading to a restart of the groove. After repeating the main theme and stick twice, with a harmonic alteration this time, the piece ends with a brief retake on the intro. Notated key Eb. |
